That after dark the reef can be lit with green and blue neon specs of light that appear in the water as you move. It is called Bioluminescence and it's extremely active around Phuket!
Over half of a reefs native species sleeps or hides during the day. Which means twilight dives are the only way to see many of the reefs stealthier fish and critters!
Nudibranches are mostly nocturnal, so the best chance to photograph rare and exotic ones is in the evening hours!

You need a little extra equipment when diving in the evening, so check out the gear we use ourselves.
That there are two main types of Bioluminescence, we like to call them Green Scatter and Blue Pearls.
Green Scatter will appear as you move through the water or wave your hands around in front of you, it looks like little sparks of green neon light.
Blue Pearls appear during the dive and look just like a string of Blue L.E.D's hanging in the water, making it feel like you are floating in space, journeying past a million different stars, it's very surreal.
